How do I make reservations?
Just come by the store and ask one of our staff members for help. We'll help you select the right items for your trip and make sure they're available when you need them. Already know what you need? You can make a reservation just by calling us (515-255-0031). No payment is required at the time of reservation.
Do I need to put a deposit down?
On the day you pick the items up, we'll have you fill out and sign a rental waiver/agreement. At that time, we'll place an authorization hold on your credit card* until the items are returned at the end of your trip. Once the items are returned to the store, we'll conclude the transaction for the rental total and the authorization hold will be released.
*If you want to pay with a debit card (or by cash or check) when you return the items, that's totally cool. We'll void the authorization hold and accept alternate payment at that time. We do, however, need a credit card for the authorization hold when you pick the items up.
What if something gets damaged or returned late?
First, we ask that items be clean when they're returned. Clean means dry, free of loose dirt (shaken out), and wiped down (if necessary). It does NOT mean laundered; we'll take care of that. We may charge a cleaning or repair fee (not to exceed full retail value of the item) for any items returned in poor condition. Having said that, we understand that gear gets used, and we're sympathetic to normal wear. We just ask that you treat the gear as if it's your own.
Rental items need to be returned by store close the day after the last paid night. So if you pick-up on a Monday and rent for five nights, the gear is due back in the shop on Saturday. We will charge a fee for each day items are overdue. No "discounts" will be given for early returns. Once the rental agreement is signed and the authorization hold is placed on the credit card, the minimum total rental price is finalized (excluding any fees for late returns or damages).
For how long can I rent gear?
Items must be rented for a minimum of two nights (no 1-night rentals) and can be rented for up to four weeks (28 nights).
